Come and gone

The summer is flying by...July has come and gone.  Here are just a few things we did last month.

The first few pictures are from a trip to Marbles.

When asked if she liked to eat broccoli, Lily replied "Yes, I do."  I'll believe it when I see it.
 Future cheerleader?
It has been a record hot summer and sometimes it it just too hot to play outside (for me at least!).  One afternoon while playing inside, my ears perked when I heard both the sound of the stroller being pushed and the choo choo train being ridden.  When she emerged passed the island, this is what I saw.
We went to Charlotte to visit some of Lily's friends (Lily, Winston, and Bowen).  They were much happier eating dinner...
and less happy when posing for a picture.  Lily was working with about a half hour nap and she was one tired little girl.
I celebrated another birthday and Lily was baptized on the same day.  It was such a special, special day.  She wore her great grandfather's Christening gown.  One that was hand sewn and hand embroidered by her great great grandmother.  One that was 91 years old.  One that has was also worn by her daddy.  She looked absolutely beautiful that day; it will be one I will always remember.

Lily enjoyed a few laughs at lunch at others expense.  She gets a kick these days asking people to "boohoo".  They "boohoo" and Lily laughs.

What else?  Well, I have no pictures, but we've also been going to a FUN music class once a week.  Lily loves it and she does amazingly well paying attention and following directions.  We also spent a few days at the beach last week.  Sadly, I have no pictures of that trip either.  I am hoping some family members might have a few to share!  She loved playing on the beach with her older cousins and spending time with her aunts, uncles, and grandparents.  Hoping August doesn't go by quite so quickly...

Bubbles

I think I am making up today for the lack of posts lately!

Earlier this week, Lily and Will (with mamas of course) went to lunch and then headed to the library for lapsit.  Will was by far the most mobile of the group and Lily was next.  They preferred roaming the room to sitting in our laps.

One of the highlights came when they brought out the bubbles.

Visitors from across the pond

Last week we had some wonderful houseguests come stay with us...one of my very best friends Jessica, her husband Stewart, and their beautiful baby girl, Bowen.  They flew in from the UK and made our house their first stop before heading to the coast.  It was a whirlwind day and a half, but I loved every minute that we had to catch up, to laugh, to hug, and to reminisce.  I snapped quite a few photos, so get ready.

Their were plenty of attempts at a group shot...I think all the babies were stunned by all the cameras going off.

I thought this sequence was funny.  It was taken over the course of just a few minutes, but you can see Will was definitely on the move, and there is a mushroom toy that changed hands several times.

There were a few tears :(

I love this next sequence with the girls.  Jessica and I have been talking for months about how similar Bowen and Lily seem to be (they are a week apart).  They sure do seem to have some of the same expressions.

PS Meredith, Liz, and Reed...we missed you!

PSS I told you there were a lot of pictures :)

What a difference!

All of Lily's buddies in town happen to be boys (there are even a few more friends that are not pictured). They also happen to be the same age, or within days of each other. Yes...days...four to be exact! I thought it would be fun to share some pictures of the babies. The picture below is when they were just two weeks old. From left to right is Lily, Henry, and Will. Now for the difference as they all approach six months...
