A bit of a rewind...Lily celebrates 2 years

The morning began with a trip to Krispy Kreme with Carson.  It doesn't get much better than a chocolate covered doughnut topped with sprinkles!

It rained for a good part of the day as Hurricane Irene was making its way, but it cleared up and we were able to continue with the birthday festivities.  Uncle Steve and Aunt Terri hosted a joint party to celebrate both Trey (7) and Lily's birthdays.  Daddy helped you get started opening your presents...

I think you tried helping Trey open a few of his presents...
And there were cupcakes!  Lily figured out how to blow the candle out herself.  I think it had to be re-lit three times while we were singing Happy Birthday.
On to sampling the chocolate icing.
That's it in a nutshell.  I best continue this little rewind before I get too far behind again!

Second birthday (Part I)

Lily got to have two birthday parties this year, the first one celebrated at the beach.  For several weeks prior, when asked what she wanted for her birthday she said cake.  What color?  Always blue.  And, of course it needed some sprinkles.  So, I made her a blue cake with sprinkles.

It is impossible to get her to sit and smile for a picture, but this is the best one I got.

Hugs for Uncle Robert.  He gave Lily a set of golf clubs.
First, a lesson from Dad.
Next, a few pointers from Uncle Mike.
Alright, enough lessons, I think they got it.
